High Street Tales
High Street Tales is part of Historic England’s High Street Heritage Action Zones project, which has appointed the seven English regional literature development agencies each to lead on exploring one high street in their region. In the South West, I was selected by Literature Works to write a short story about the High Street in Weston-super-Mare.
The Women of Number 11
The Women of Number 11 is a story that spans over 127 years and combines the overlapping lives of multiple characters. Whether these are the same women- living a different existence over and over, or different women experiencing alternative versions of the same life, these characters share common threads of relation.
Their stories centre around the high street, they all have an affiliation to Number 11 and their lives all have common motives and themes joining them. The Women of Number 11 aims to use space, time and interconnectivity, to highlight the value of the past and the possible futures of our high streets and the people who fill them.
Fascinated by how both the past and future collide and find one another, I created The Women of Number 11. It’s available now to download as a free ebook and podcast.
